The Babymooners is a mellow drama about Shaina Feinberg’s anxious and surreal journey into motherhood.

Babymoon: a relaxing vacation taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born. But nothing is relaxing for Shaina, a late blooming New Yorker, whose biggest fear is that parenthood means the end of creativity.

Two weeks before the birth of her first child, Shaina sits down to create a video letter for her unborn son. Clearly influenced by old Woody Allen films, her video letter becomes a series of vignettes that include her newly sober husband, her goofy Upper West Side parents, an adorable Shih Tzu mix, an overly anxious shrink and her own views on daytime television.

Reviews and Press

“It’s very personal, very funny and sweet – it’s not a documentary, it’s a narrative film, but they used what was going on in their life (including Feinberg’s real life parents) to tell their story.”
– Tony Castle in The Lo-Down
“This movie makes you want to live in this version of New York and be friends with these funny, crazy and charming New Yorkers.”
– Rachel H. Smith
“It’s a fun movie, and Feinberg and Manley make for an endlessly engaging couple. If they’re anything like their screen counterparts, they’re the sort of people you’d want as your best friends.”
– Christopher Lloyd in The Film Yap
